Zayn Malik Postpones US Tour Following Liam Payne's Tragic Passing

Zayn Malik has postponed the US leg of his Stairway to the Sky Tour in light of the “heartbreaking loss” of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, who tragically passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina earlier this week. Malik had been scheduled to begin his US shows next week, starting in San Francisco and continuing through cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Washington DC, before ending in New York on November 3.

In a heartfelt message to fans, Malik explained his decision, stating: “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the tour.” He reassured ticket holders that the dates will be rescheduled for January, and tickets will remain valid for the new performances.

Malik took to social media to express his grief over Payne’s passing, referring to Payne as a “brother” and sharing that he will forever cherish their memories together. “I lost a brother when you left us, and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly,” Malik wrote.

The cancellation follows a public outpouring of tributes to Payne, including a visit by Payne’s father, Geoff Payne, to the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, where he viewed tributes left by fans. The scene was chaotic as photographers followed him, prompting fans to intervene by trying to block the press from entering the hotel.

Malik’s decision to postpone his tour comes as the music world and One Direction fans continue to mourn the loss of Payne.
