University of Ibadan Confirms Receipt of N201 Million for Student Loans

The University of Ibadan (UI) has confirmed the receipt of N201 million from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to cover the fees of 1,370 students for the 2023/2024 academic session. This was disclosed in a circular issued by the Registrar, G.O. Salisu, on August 9, 2024, which was addressed to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.

According to the circular, the funds have been allocated to cover the institutional fees of students who applied for the NELFUND loan. The Bursary Department is in the process of issuing smart receipts for the concerned students.

The university also announced that students who applied for the loan but had already paid their fees are eligible for a refund. To apply for a refund, students must submit a written application through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic. The application should include the student’s account details and a photocopy of the original payment receipt.
