UAE Lifts Visa Ban on Nigerians, Effective Immediately

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has lifted its visa restrictions on Nigerian citizens with immediate effect. This announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

Idris confirmed that an agreement had been reached between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the UAE authorities, resulting in the removal of travel restrictions for Nigerian passport holders. This development allows Nigerians to travel to the UAE without any hindrance.

“I can tell you that the agreement has been reached and effective from today, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE are able to do so,” said Idris.

He added, “You are aware that Nigeria has been discussing with the United Arab Emirates the issue of visas for Nigerian passport holders going to the United Arab Emirates. Today, an agreement has been reached on that, and effective from today 15th July, Nigerian passport holders are able to obtain visas to go to the United Arab Emirates.”

This decision marks a significant improvement in travel relations between Nigeria and the UAE, providing new opportunities for travel, business, and cultural exchange for Nigerians.
