Trump Leaves Hospital After Assassination Attempt at Rally
Former President Donald Trump has been discharged from the hospital following an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania. In a social media post, Trump disclosed that a bullet pierced the “upper part” of his right ear during the incident.
The attack resulted in one fatality and two injuries, all adult males, according to law enforcement. The FBI identified the suspected gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who was shot and killed by the Secret Service.
At an earlier press conference, FBI field officer Kevin Rojek confirmed that the incident is being treated as an assassination attempt. Questions arose regarding the response time to the gunman, with state police stating it is “too early” to determine specifics as “everything unfolded very quickly.”
Rojek praised the Secret Service and state and local partners for their immediate reaction. State police are also investigating reports that a witness saw the shooter on a nearby roof.
