Tottenham Complete £65m Deal for Striker Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of England striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in a deal that could reach up to £65 million. The initial fee is reported to be £55 million, with an additional £10 million in performance-related add-ons. Solanke, 26, has committed to Spurs until 2030, marking a significant move in his career.

This transfer makes Solanke Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Yang Min-hyuk, Lucas Bergvall, and Archie Gray. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has been eager to bolster his attacking options after the departure of England captain Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer.

Solanke, who joined Bournemouth from Liverpool for £19 million in 2019, had his most prolific season in 2023-24, netting 21 goals in 42 appearances. His performances have earned him a move to Spurs, where he will be expected to fill the void left by Kane.

Liverpool, Solanke’s former club, will benefit from a 20% sell-on clause on the profit made by Bournemouth from this transfer.

Solanke is anticipated to be in attendance at Spurs’ pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich at Tottenham Stadium on Saturday. His Premier League debut for the North London club could come in their season opener against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on 19 August.
