Tobi Amusan Qualifies for 100m Hurdles Semi-Finals at Paris 2024 Olympics
World record holder Tobi Amusan has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the 100-meter hurdles at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Competing on Wednesday, Amusan led her heat with an impressive time of 12.49 seconds, outpacing her competitors.
Following Amusan, America’s Alaysha Johnson secured her spot in the semi-finals with a time of 12.61 seconds, and Jamaica’s Janeek Brown qualified with 12.84 seconds.
Amusan is considered a strong contender for the gold medal, but faces fierce competition from a talented field, including the Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton, USA’s Alaysha Johnson, world champion Danielle Williams, and reigning Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn from Puerto Rico.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, August 9, with the final taking place on Saturday, August 10, the penultimate day of the athletics events. With her strong performance so far, Amusan remains one of the top favorites to claim the top spot on the podium.
