Steve Bannon Released from Prison, Pledges Support for Trump’s Election Campaign
Steve Bannon, former advisor to Donald Trump, has been released from prison after serving four months for contempt of Congress. Convicted in 2022 for defying a congressional subpoena related to the investigation into the January 6 Capitol riot, Bannon’s time behind bars has only strengthened his resolve.
Speaking on his podcast shortly after his release, Bannon declared, “The four months in federal prison not only didn’t break me, it empowered me. I am more energized and more focused than I’ve ever been in my entire life.” He vowed to channel this energy into supporting Trump in the final days leading up to the 2024 presidential election, which is just a week away.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Bannon underscored his commitment to rallying voters for Trump, expressing confidence in a potential “landslide” victory for the former president. He briefly reflected on his time in prison, sharing that he even had the chance to teach a civics and government class to fellow inmates.
Prior to his incarceration, Bannon had pledged to continue his work for Trump’s campaign, regardless of his imprisonment.
Despite a past falling out between Bannon and Trump during the latter’s presidency, Bannon has remained a staunch ally, continuing to support Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement and expressing hostility toward Democratic figures.
