Ronald L Rowe Jr Named Acting Director of US Secret Service

Following the announcement of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation due to security lapses preceding last week’s assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a new interim head has been appointed. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that Ronald L Rowe Jr will take over as acting director of the Secret Service.

In a statement on X, Secretary Mayorkas expressed gratitude for Rowe’s “willingness to lead the Secret Service at this incredibly challenging moment.” Rowe, who has a long-standing career in federal law enforcement, is expected to bring stability and experience to the agency during this transitional period.

Rowe’s appointment comes at a critical time for the Secret Service as it deals with the aftermath of the security breach and the ensuing investigation. The agency is tasked with reinforcing its protocols and restoring public confidence in its ability to protect national leaders.

Rowe’s leadership will be closely watched as he navigates these challenges and implements necessary reforms within the agency.
