Reilly Claims BMX Freestyle Silver in Thrilling Paris Final

Great Britain’s Kieran Reilly captured a silver medal in a dramatic BMX freestyle final held in Paris. The 23-year-old delivered a strong performance, scoring 93.70 in his first run, which initially placed him in second position.

Reilly was assured at least a bronze medal when he took to the course for his second run. He then secured the silver medal with a score of 93.91, though it wasn’t enough to surpass Argentina’s Jose Torres Gil, who claimed gold with a score of 94.82.

After finishing first in Tuesday’s qualifiers at Place de la Concorde, Reilly was the last competitor to perform in the nine-strong field. Aware of the high scores he needed to beat, he took on the course with determination during his final run.

Upon completing a complex and intense second run, Reilly sank to his knees, overcome with emotion. There were tears from both him and his support team, including Tokyo 2020 women’s BMX freestyle champion Charlotte Worthington, as they awaited the final score.
