Nathan Ake Stretchered Off in Netherlands' Draw with Germany

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake was stretchered off during the Netherlands’ Nations League match against Germany in Amsterdam, raising concerns about a potential hamstring injury. Ake, 29, was forced to leave the pitch just before halftime, marking an unfortunate end to his international appearance.

Ake had recently returned to Premier League action for Manchester City, coming on as a late substitute in their 3-1 win against West Ham just before the international break. His injury will be a concern for both City and the Netherlands as they await further updates.

The match itself saw an early goal from the Netherlands, with Tijjani Reijnders finishing off a move initiated by Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch just two minutes in. Germany responded with Deniz Undav scoring his first international goal, followed by Joshua Kimmich putting Germany ahead right before halftime.

The Netherlands equalized early in the second half through Denzel Dumfries, but despite several chances, including a missed header by David Raum from a Kai Havertz cross, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
