Napoli Agree on Fee for Man Utd’s Scott McTominay
Napoli has reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of midfielder Scott McTominay, with a fee set at approximately €30 million (£25.4 million). While personal terms are yet to be finalized, and McTominay has not yet agreed to the move, this marks the second consecutive year that United has been open to selling the academy graduate.
Earlier this month, United rejected a £20 million offer from Fulham for the Scotland international. Last season, McTominay declined a move to West Ham and went on to make 32 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals. He also played a key role in United’s FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.
Despite his contributions, McTominay has been primarily used as a substitute in United’s opening Premier League games this season. Manager Erik ten Hag is looking to strengthen his squad and sees McTominay’s potential departure as an opportunity to create more financial flexibility under Premier League rules.
United has shown interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Uruguayan international, Manuel Ugarte, but negotiations with the French club have not yet resulted in an agreement.
