Mohamed Salah Hints at Liverpool Exit, No Contract Talks in Progress
Mohamed Salah has revealed that the 2023-2024 season might be his last at Liverpool, as no discussions have taken place regarding a new contract. The 32-year-old Egyptian star, whose current deal expires next summer, made the statement following his goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United.
Salah expressed that he approached the match at Old Trafford as if it could be his final appearance at the iconic stadium. “Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts,” Salah told Sky Sports. “I was just like, ‘OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season.’”
When questioned about Salah’s comments, Liverpool manager Arne Slot remained non-committal, saying, “It’s a lot of ‘if’. At this moment, he is one of ours, and I am really happy with him being one of ours.”
Salah, who signed a lucrative three-year contract extension in July 2022, has been a crucial figure for Liverpool. The club previously rejected a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad for the forward in September 2023.
