Max Verstappen Clinches Third Consecutive Canadian Grand Prix Victory
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen secured his third consecutive win at the Canadian Grand Prix, showcasing his skill and resilience in a challenging race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Starting from the front row next to Mercedes’ George Russell, Verstappen navigated tricky weather conditions and strategic pit stops to claim his sixth victory in nine races this season, marking the 60th win of his Formula One career.
Verstappen demonstrated exceptional driving, taking the lead from McLaren’s Lando Norris during the final pit stops and maintaining it despite the ever-changing conditions. He skillfully managed battles with McLaren and Mercedes, all while contending with suspension issues.
The race saw dramatic moments, including a collision between Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Williams’s Alex Albon that brought out the safety car twice. Verstappen pulled ahead after the restart, finishing 3.879 seconds ahead of Norris. George Russell won a thrilling last-lap duel with teammate Lewis Hamilton to secure the final podium spot.
With this victory, Verstappen extends his lead in the Formula One Drivers’ Championship with 194 points, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc with 138 points.
