Manhunt Underway After New York Health Executive Killed in Targeted Attack
Authorities in New York are conducting an intensive manhunt following the fatal shooting of a prominent health executive in what police have described as a “targeted attack.” The suspect fled the scene on an electric Citi Bike, part of New York’s bike-rental system operated in partnership between the city’s Department of Transportation and Lyft.
Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny revealed during a news conference that surveillance footage captured the suspect riding the bike at multiple locations. However, police have not yet identified where the suspect initially obtained the Citi Bike. Kenny confirmed that investigators are working closely with the rental company to trace the bike’s GPS data.
The suspect is described as wearing a black jacket, a grey backpack, and a black balaclava covering the lower half of their face. Security footage from the incident provides a clear view of these items.
