Liverpool Set to Host West Ham in Carabao Cup Third Round
Carabao Cup holders Liverpool will kick off their title defense with a challenging third-round tie against West Ham at Anfield. The draw has set up three all-Premier League clashes, with Everton facing Southampton at Goodison Park and Brighton welcoming Wolves to the Amex Stadium.
League Two side Barrow, who have made it to the third round for the first time since the 1967-68 season, will have a daunting task as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea, the beaten finalists of 2024. Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon, fresh off their penalty shootout victory over Premier League side Ipswich in the second round, will host Newcastle United.
Arsenal will face off against Bolton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium, and Manchester United will play Barnsley at Old Trafford. Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City are set to face Championship side Watford at the Etihad Stadium, while Aston Villa and Tottenham have been drawn away against Wycombe and Coventry, respectively.
The third-round ties are scheduled to take place during the weeks commencing 16 and 23 September, alongside fixtures for the Champions League and Europa League, promising a packed and exciting period of football action.
