Kaduna State Imposes 24-Hour Curfew Amid Rising Unrest
The Kaduna State Security Council, led by Governor Uba Sani, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the metropolitan cities of Kaduna and Zaria and their surrounding areas. This swift action comes after a security review revealed that ongoing protests have been taken over by criminal elements engaging in looting and destruction of private and public property.
In a statement released on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, the overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, urged citizens to stay indoors while security forces work diligently to restore order and ensure the safety of residents. The curfew aims to curb further unrest and allow law enforcement to address the situation effectively.
Governor Sani and the security council are closely monitoring developments, with a commitment to protecting lives and properties and maintaining peace throughout the state. Residents are advised to comply with the curfew and cooperate with security personnel during this period of heightened vigilance.
