Israeli Court Orders End to Strike Amid Protests for Gaza Hostage Deal
Israel’s labour court has mandated that the ongoing general strike must end by 14:30 local time (12:30 BST). This decision comes amid widespread protests in Tel Aviv, where thousands of activists have taken to the streets demanding that the Israeli government secure the release of hostages currently held by Hamas.
Earlier reports indicated that the strike organizers intended to continue the action until 18:00 local time (16:00 BST), but the court’s ruling has shortened this duration.
