Injury Setback: Gibbs-White, Konsa, and Mainoo Out for England’s Nations League Matches
England’s Nations League campaign in October has been hit by the withdrawal of three key players: Morgan Gibbs-White, Ezri Konsa, and Kobbie Mainoo. The trio will miss the upcoming matches due to injuries.
The Three Lions, under interim manager Lee Carsley, are set to face Greece at Wembley on Thursday before traveling to Helsinki for a clash with Finland on Sunday. Despite the setbacks, Carsley has opted not to call up any replacements, relying on the remaining 22 players who have already reported to St George’s Park.
Gibbs-White, the Nottingham Forest midfielder who made his England debut last month, sustained an injury while taking a blocked shot during a 1-1 draw against Chelsea. Aston Villa defender Konsa pulled up with a hamstring injury in the goalless draw with Manchester United, while United midfielder Mainoo was substituted late in the same game due to a fitness concern.
England will now have to adapt without these key players as they look to secure crucial points in the Nations League.
