Iheanacho Ready for New Challenge in La Liga with Sevilla
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his readiness to embrace the Spanish League challenge after signing with Sevilla. The 27-year-old joined the Andalusian club on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City at the end of last season.
Iheanacho’s tenure at Leicester City saw him playing mostly in a supporting role, where he managed to score six goals and provide three assists in 26 appearances during the club’s campaign in the English Premier League.
Although the Nigeria international did not participate in Sevilla’s recent match against Fulham and is unlikely to travel with the squad for their upcoming game against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium on Sunday, he remains enthusiastic about his future with the club.
In an interview with Sevilla’s club media on Tuesday, Iheanacho shared his excitement: “I feel very good and am happy to come to Sevilla and to be a new Sevilla player. I am very happy to be here.”
He continued, “Like I said before, I am very happy. I am going to play like I did in England; it is a new challenge. I am ready to play in the Spanish league, and I am going to give everything for Sevilla.”
