FG to Commence Immigration and Fire Service Recruitment in August

The Federal Government has announced that the next stage of the recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will commence in August. This was disclosed by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.

Ahmed stated that the recruitment exercise, originally scheduled to conclude by June 15, 2024, will now be completed before the end of September 2024. He assured that all shortlisted candidates would be informed of the next stage of the process through their provided contact details.

“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board wishes to inform the general public that it will commence the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August and will conclude the exercise before the end of September 2024,” Ahmed said.

The delay in completing the recruitment process was attributed to a nationwide manpower audit conducted by the Services under the Board, including the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Ahmed expressed apologies for the delay, stating, “The board wishes to apologise for its inability to complete the process by 15th June 2024, as earlier intended. This is due to a nationwide manpower audit exercise carried out in the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which was just recently concluded.”

He reiterated that all shortlisted candidates will receive notifications regarding the next stage of the recruitment process via their phone numbers and email addresses.
