Cole Palmer Extends Chelsea Contract Until 2033 After Breakthrough Season
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has committed his future to the club, signing a new contract that extends his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been rewarded with improved terms following an outstanding debut season with the Blues.
Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer, made an immediate impact, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists in 45 appearances. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, earning him a spot on the shortlist for both the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, as well as the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24.
The England international also made headlines during the summer, scoring in the Euro 2024 final, where England narrowly lost 2-1 to Spain. Chelsea, eager to secure Palmer’s talents for the long term, have now tied him down to a nine-year deal, which will be officially announced in the coming days.
Palmer’s new contract reflects his growing importance to the team as Chelsea prepares for the upcoming Premier League season. The Blues will kick off their campaign on Sunday against Manchester City, Palmer’s former club, under the guidance of manager Enzo Maresca, who was part of City’s Treble-winning staff in the 2022-23 season.
