Catastrophic Air Strike in Gaza Claims Over 70 Lives

A devastating Israeli air strike on a school building in Gaza City has resulted in the deaths of more than 70 people, according to Dr. Fadl Naeem, the director of al-Ahli Hospital. The school, which was sheltering displaced Palestinians, was struck early Saturday morning, leading to a tragic loss of life, with many victims so severely disfigured that identification has been challenging.

Dr. Naeem described the situation at the hospital as “catastrophic,” noting that the medical team is struggling to provide adequate care for the seriously wounded due to the overwhelming number of casualties.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the al-Taba’een school was being used as an active military facility by Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants. However, Hamas has denied these allegations. Casualty figures provided by various sources, including the Hamas-run health ministry and the civil defense agency, suggest the death toll may be even higher, potentially exceeding 90.
