Casemiro's Wife Defends Him Amid Criticism After Liverpool Defeat

Manchester United’s Casemiro faced intense scrutiny following the team’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool, with the Brazilian midfielder being substituted at half-time and drawing criticism from pundits. Some even speculated that Casemiro had left Old Trafford at the break, a claim that was swiftly denied by United manager Erik ten Hag.

In response to the backlash, Casemiro’s wife, Anna Mariana, took to Instagram to defend her husband, showcasing his impressive collection of trophies. She posted a picture highlighting his five Champions League titles, three La Liga titles with Real Madrid, and his recent FA Cup win with Manchester United. Alongside the image, she wrote a supportive message: “Always strong Casemiro, the biggest [heart emoji].”

Casemiro struggled during the first half of Sunday’s match, making two errors that led to Liverpool goals. His performance led to critical comments from former players turned pundits. Jamie Carragher described the situation as “a sad sight,” while Gary Neville noted that Casemiro seemed to have “lost his confidence.”

Casemiro was replaced by 20-year-old Toby Collyer at half-time, who made his debut for Manchester United. Ten Hag explained the substitution by saying, “We had to take risks because we want to bounce back, then you need players in midfield to cover ground, therefore we put Toby Collyer on the pitch.”

Ten Hag also expressed confidence in Casemiro’s ability to recover and continue contributing to the team, emphasizing the midfielder’s winning mentality and experience. “I’m sure he will keep contributing to our team and Casemiro is always winning so he will be there,” Ten Hag added.
