Cameron Norrie Withdraws from US Open Due to Forearm Injury

British number two Cameron Norrie has announced his withdrawal from the US Open due to a forearm injury that also kept him out of the Tokyo Olympics. The 28-year-old expressed his disappointment on Instagram, saying he plans to rest and recharge before returning to competition, adding, “I can’t wait to get back to competing.”

With Norrie’s absence, the British representation in the men’s main draw at the US Open is now limited to Jack Draper and Dan Evans. The tournament, which marks the final Grand Slam of the year, is set to begin on 26 August.

This withdrawal follows the recent retirement of Andy Murray, leaving Draper and Evans as the last remaining British hopes in the men’s singles draw at the prestigious event in New York.
