British Airways Suspends Summer 2025 Flights from Southampton Airport
British Airways has announced the cancellation of all its flights from Southampton Airport for the summer of 2025. The airline did not provide a specific reason for the suspension of operations but confirmed that affected passengers would be contacted with rebooking options or full refunds.
Under its BA City Flyer subsidiary, British Airways previously operated flights from Southampton to destinations like Bergerac, Dublin, Faro, Malaga, and Majorca during weekends in the summer.
A spokesperson from Southampton Airport expressed disappointment at the decision, but reassured that discussions are ongoing with airlines to introduce new services and potentially replace the withdrawn routes.
The decision comes nearly a year after Southampton Airport extended its runway to accommodate a wider variety of aircraft, a move deemed crucial for the airport’s long-term viability.
