Bournemouth Shocks Arsenal, Ending Their Unbeaten Run

Bournemouth ended Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season with a stunning 2-0 victory at Vitality Stadium, handing the Gunners their first defeat in the campaign. Arsenal’s troubles began when William Saliba was shown a red card—his first ever—after tripping Bournemouth’s Evanilson, following a risky pass from teammate Leandro Trossard.

The Gunners had previously managed to hold off Manchester City and Brighton in similar situations, but this time, playing with 10 men for over 60 minutes proved too much. Bournemouth eventually broke the deadlock when Ryan Christie scored a superb goal, smashing the ball into the top corner after a clever corner routine. Justin Kluivert, who assisted Christie’s goal, then added a second, converting a penalty following a foul on Evanilson by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

The victory lifted Bournemouth to 10th in the Premier League standings, while Arsenal missed the chance to go top. With this defeat, the pressure is now on Arsenal as title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City prepare for their matches against Chelsea and Wolves, respectively.

This result marked a significant win for Bournemouth, who had lost their previous four encounters with Arsenal by a combined score of 13-2.
