Borno State Imposes 24-Hour Curfew Following Market Bombing

In the wake of a deadly bomb attack at Kawori Market in the Konduga area, the Borno State Government has declared an immediate 24-hour curfew across the state. The decision, announced by Governor Babagana Zulum, comes after consultations with top security officials to ensure the restoration of law and order and the safety of residents.

The attack, which occurred on Wednesday night, involved the detonation of an improvised explosive device, resulting in the tragic deaths of 16 people and critically injuring several others. The injured are currently receiving treatment in various government hospitals across the state.

The statement titled “Imposition of Curfew” emphasized the constitutional responsibility of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to maintain order and protect citizens. The government views the curfew as a necessary step to stabilize the situation and prevent further incidents.
