Arsenal’s Last-Gasp Double Downs Leicester in Thrilling Emirates Clash
Arsenal pulled off a stunning comeback with two stoppage-time goals to secure a dramatic 4-2 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium. A Wilfred Ndidi own goal in the 94th minute, followed by a Kai Havertz strike deep into the ninth minute of added time, denied Leicester a valuable point after they had fought back from a two-goal deficit.
The Gunners dominated the first half, taking the lead through Gabriel Martinelli, who finished off a pinpoint cross from Jurrien Timber. Martinelli then turned provider, setting up Leandro Trossard for a second goal just before the break.
Despite a lackluster first half, Leicester bounced back immediately in the second. James Justin’s header, deflected in off Havertz, reduced the deficit just over a minute into the half. Justin then doubled his tally in spectacular fashion with a swerving volley, leveling the score at 2-2 after connecting with Ndidi’s cross.
Arsenal, seemingly stunned by the equalizer, regained their momentum and pressured Leicester’s defense. Mads Hermansen made two crucial saves to keep the Foxes level, but a late shot from Trossard was deflected in by Ndidi, breaking Leicester’s resistance. Havertz then sealed the victory with a close-range strike in the dying moments.
The win keeps Arsenal just one point behind league leaders Liverpool and level on points with Manchester City, who drew with Newcastle earlier in the day.
