Arsenal Open Premier League Campaign with Solid Win Over Wolves
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season with a confident 2-0 victory over Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.
Kai Havertz gave the Gunners the lead in the first half, heading in a precise cross from Bukayo Saka. Saka himself doubled Arsenal’s advantage after the break, capitalizing on a quickly taken free-kick to unleash a powerful left-footed shot into the right corner.
Although Arsenal didn’t hit top gear, they remained in control throughout the match and deservedly secured the win against a resilient Wolves side.
Wolves had a couple of opportunities, with debutant Jorgen Strand Larsen’s header forcing a good save from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya in the first half. Substitute Matheus Cunha also had a chance to level the score, but his weak effort was easily gathered by Raya as Wolves pressed for an equalizer.
Despite Wolves’ determination, their manager Gary O’Neil will have few complaints about the result, as his team struggled to create clear chances against a well-organized Arsenal defense.
