Liverpool Issues 432 Lifetime Bans in Major Ticket Touting Crackdown

Liverpool have issued 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions as part of a major crackdown on ticket touting that also led to the seizure of £1.2 million in criminal assets.

The club worked alongside Merseyside Police in an operation targeting organised ticket touts, focusing on the laundering of proceeds from the illegal resale of match tickets. The initiative formed part of Liverpool’s wider campaign against ticket fraud both online and at Anfield.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Suffield praised the collaboration, saying it demonstrated how police and the club were working together to protect supporters from ticket scams.

“This is a fantastic example of partnership working between ourselves and Liverpool Football Club for the good of the fans and the general public.

“We will always take action to protect genuine fans who fall victim to touts when all they are trying to do is simply purchase tickets to support their team.”

The £1.2 million recovered from the operation has been shared between Merseyside Police and the Home Office.

Liverpool also revealed the scale of its anti-touting efforts during the 2025-26 season. The club analysed nearly 700,000 ticket registrations, blocking or cancelling 67,663 suspected fake accounts, while a further 121,379 accounts remain under investigation.

In addition, 3,847 tickets linked to suspicious purchasing activity were cancelled and returned to general sale, making them available to genuine supporters.

The club also stepped up enforcement on matchdays, carrying out an average of 300 targeted checks at Anfield per home game, as well as additional checks at Premier League and European away fixtures, preventing supporters using suspicious accounts from entering stadiums.
